Training For Work Programme
EWP participant Requirements
- Aged 18-25
- Currently out of work
- Have a passion for creating new facilities for the community around skateboarding
The aim is for EWP participants to develop the skills and certifications required to gain employment in the Construction Sector within Scotland and the UK.
As part of these sessions participants will complete the Operatives test, to qualify for a green labourer card. This card is valid for 5-years.
Training Aim
To provide the pathway for each trainee to gain their CSCS Green card, permitting people performing general labouring duties on construction sites across the UK.
Your course typically consists of:
- REHIS Elementary Health and Safety
- Vehicle Banksman
- Fire Awareness
- Abrasive Wheels
- Manual Handling
- Working at Height
EWP Delivers
- Prepare learners for entry-level employment in construction
- Develop safe working practices
- Provide hands-on practical experience
Teaching Tips
- Use real site examples when explaining safety
- Encourage participation during discussions
- Demonstrate practical tasks before learners attempt them
Workshop Management
- Ensure PPE is worn at all times
- Check tools before use
- Maintain clean and organised workspace
Supporting Learners
- Provide extra guidance for learners with limited experience
- Encourage teamwork and peer support
- Offer constructive feedback
