Collaborating with partners, The EWP continues to provide a quality community resource for people of all ages working in the community with schools, social work, and voluntary organisations. We develop integrated vocational learning, training and employability programmes through extended work placements, structured volunteering opportunities and worker development.
EWP will operate with a spirit of openness and an ethos of mutuality, and as a community interest company and social enterprise it will operate profit making activities to reinvest in our founding purpose. Also partnering with construction companies to work with us to meet their community benefit clauses.
We train young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) to gain qualifications and achieve job outcomes through building skateparks.

Evidence that our beneficiaries’ needs are unmet. Working over the last 5 years with Leith DIY, a community group set up in Leith in 2016 who saw the desire of young people to build their own skate parks.
EWP continue to identify young people who wish to better their situation.
A summary of the activities we have delivered:
- Leveraged corporate funding.
- ISG Construction delivered a workplace training programme to provide a mini skateboard ramp at Spartans Football Academy.
We provided workplace training for 20 unemployed Young People between 18-24 in Edinburgh over 6 weeks in the summer of 2022.
The key outcomes of the project were:
- CICS certification
- Health and Safety experience
- First Aid Certification
- Joinery skills
- Customer service skills
- Job application writing, CV writing, and interview skills and fully supported towards employment and job sustainability.
Outcome:
Of the 20 participants, 5 went on to find permanent employment and 10 are still engaged in our ongoing projects.
