Located in The Spartans Football Community Academy football grounds at 94 Pilton Drive, Ainsley Park Stadium. Invited by The Spartans Football Community Academy to provide a skateboarding facility for all ages, built by teaming up 10 unemployed youths with local construction firm ISG and providing a training for work program.
The program covers basic joinery skills, a full CSCS card course and work experience with links to further college course entry and potential employment. The project will put a miniramp facility into the Spartan F.C. Football grounds, offering a variety of ages a new skateboarding facility in the heart of Leith.
The ramp will be designed and completed by Ruari Brite-Steer, a professional ramp-builder who will run the work program, offering free experience and construction skills in a safe environment. Global construction firm ISG will supply all the workwear, tools and material expertise to give these young people CIBT cards and a direct link to further employment and education.
On completion the young people will host a series of events hosted by Skateboard Scotland and other skateboarding community groups. Events such as skateboarding jams, music, street food, skateboarding lessons and sponsored skateboarding demonstrations.
